Gooseberry Westport

Paddled the yak out to the Hen's and Chicken's ledge early today and was not disappointed. It produced the usual mixed bag, early on it was schoolies everywhere, nothing big but fun to start the morning off. Then I downsized to a 3/8oz jig and my 4" split tail for eaters as the outgoing against the SW wind set up a really good rip as I expected it would and the tog and sea bass were biting. I love catching tog on plastic and light gear and they really bite good in the rip/rocks. It's to bad the tog limit was only 1, because I think I would have stayed out longer to have some fun, but I decided to move back to Gooseberry to finish off the day and there were sea bass there too, nothing big but brought a couple eaters home. Three blue's made off with plastic and jig heads after some acrobatic fights to round out the morning.
