I have the Jet and love it, the 1/2 HP motor is perfect for plug building...it is a very SOLID tool.

I also have the Jet and Love it.

Haven't used anything else so I'm not sure how it compares to the grizzly.

I bought a grizzly, and I am very happy with it. They have good deals and fast shipping.

I started with the grizzly 8690 mini lathe. Picked up the Jet Mini lathe last year. Both are good for plug building. Jet seems more sturdy and runs smoother, though is more expensive. Either one would be good for plugs.

I have a Jet also. It is great. Check Amazon.com for price. They were giving $25 off with a purchase over $199. And I believe free shipping
