Using old plugs?

Ive got a couple of old beater masterlures and pt judes and wanted to see how they swim so i culd copy em, but am worried that since they havent seen water in so long that they would split open. Has anyone had an old plug split on them?

swimming old plugs

I've swam some old lures to see how they swim. If they are sealed well to begin with a quick dunk will cause no damage.

If they are old beater masterlures give them a swim. Can't hurt them. If they are like new I wouldn't swim them as they will probably take on water and wreck the finish.
