if the boat is wired that way . with a switch if you leave it on both , don,t they both change ????

I use battery one one day and # two the next,,, never both.... don’t know why I just do ....

Yes they do, but if you leave both M on and something drained one, BOTH are dead... it's just one way to make life a whole lot easier.
