100% titanium tip ?

A member asked me if I know where to buy a titanium rod tip. He has one on a Century rod. The tip is all ti. Ring and frame. I checked MH, GLB, pac-bay etc. Haven't found one that's 100% ti. Anyone know if there's anything available to fit surf tops?

Ti ring

I looked through my Century catagos and didn't see any all Ti rings, most of the new series seem to use the K series guides. There are flyrod tips that meet that description but he largest tube I could find was a 7. I woud be interested on more information if you comeacross any'

I need to make a few calls. Catolog browsing didn't do it. The fellow says it was installed by Ryan at Century. Hatteras Jack.

You might find carbide,SIC,Hardaloy and several off brand materials. I think no one makes a titanium ring as like most metals it grooved . Especialy with braid. Carbide is the only 1 that I know of that works. Titanium is light and rugged but not groove proof.

Thanks Ron. My feelings also. The tip is ti coated I find out. American Tackle has a solid ti frame called Tion . He likes because of the lack of insert breaking . This friend says no grooves but it's ti coating is chipping.

Come to find out the American Tackle Tion guides are not solid ring. Inserts. Nano lite ring. Back to square one. He says Hatteras Jack has such a guide.
