Ted Nugent on Deer Hunting

Ted Nugent, the famous rock star and world class hunter, was being interviewed about his deer hunting by a touchy-feely French journalist.

The journalist asked, "What do you think is the last thought in the head of deer before you shoot him? Is it, "Are you my friend?" or is it "Are you the one
who killed my brother?'"

Nugent replied, "Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, "What am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the French."

In the interest of accurate reporting, a Brit was also slammed, according to snopes:

he did make the comment in a May 2006 interview conducted by a British journalist Robert Chalmers:
"What do these deer think when they see you coming?" I ask him. "Here comes the nice guy who puts out our dinner? Or, there's the man that shot my brother?"

"I don't think they're capable of either of those thoughts, you Limey %$%$%$%$%$%$%$. They're only interested in three things: the best place to eat, having sex and how quickly they can run away. Much like the French."

***I'm just reporting this, I'll try to keep my personal thoughts out of this.....

Well, I'll try harder next time.

Best regards,
Roger

The Nug should probably stick to shooting caricatures of Saddam on stage instead of speaking.

I love his 'sunrize' hunting farm BS.

Lets go drive down this pasture and park right next to the hand fed Buffalo and shoot it!

Mighty sporting.

What an effing joke.

Is there a difference between killing hand fed Buffaloes at Teds ranch and slaughtering hand fed cattle in a stockyard? It all tastes the same and ends up in the same place.

There's a huge difference. Stockyards have evolved over time to minimize stress on the animal to produce a more humane and better product.

Animals from stockyards are used with amazing effeciency. There is very little waste.

Can't say the same about a farmed shoot. It's all about vanity and nothing more.

While I'm not a proponent of hunting fenced in animals I guess the same argument could be used for hunting in general.

Some hunting, but not in general. I don't think anyone sits in a freezing stand with a bow for vanity.

You're just trying to force an argument.

I guess that would depend on how well they dressed to freeze their off.

Force an argument? Hell, I didn't even know I was disagreeing with you.

Ted Nugent is great. He gets in the face of the PC crowd who think their chicken falls out of the sky wrapped in a plastic container with the word "Perdue" on it.

the worst thing he did was get a tv show that brings his choice of life out to the main stream for ridicule . but give him credit for saying it as it is . cause I know when a deer sees me he isnt thinking fasion .

he could stab a buffalo in a box in the eye for all I care .

Did anyone else see the ted nugent reality show they had on VH1? It was called surviing nugent i think they cancelled it before the first season was over. A handful of people had to live with Ted and his family. They had this one girl that was not only a vegetarian, but also vegan......she flipped out at the dinner table three weeks into the show.

Sorry but stockyards are far from what I would call humane. Also far from what I would call a "better product". I could be wrong here but I doubt but your comment that you have seen first hand how these animals live....AND DIE....it aint pretty. Do I think that preserve hunting is the best kind? hell no! but I do think that it beats the hell out of the mass produced meat you buy in the store loaded with growth hormones and god knows what else. Lets not even get into the "how" and "why" diseases spread in in the stockyards.

Simplify.......

I think what some(not you stripersnipr) are missing here is that it's HIS ranch. He's killing buffalo on his PRIVATELY OWNED ranch and btw not hand fed,but fed from automatic dispensers which many other hunters use for whitetails. Please make the distinction between machine and hand fed, there is a differance.Nugent in reality is proliferating buffalo, his kill # is WELL below the #s that are raised.

The way Ted hunts is oh so much more humane than the slaughterhouse, regardless of what two guys here(guess which two)think. You two ever been to a cattle processing plant?I have and let me tell you these animals KNOW when its their time. How many humans do you know that want to know its their day?.None.

Your last ribeye was processed in an environment that might not always be safe, yes even meat bought through Wholefoods could be unsafe.

If you two guys are so worried about how Ted hunts think about how you fish. You just hooked a fish in its feeding apparatus, dragged it all the way to the shore but............its 27".Can you guarantee that if you let it go that it'll live?Of course not,and "maybe it might live" don't count.

You two guys might want to checkout:
www.peta.com
www.fishinghurts.com

TED FOR PRESIDENT(Or at least Sec.of the Interior)!!!

Sorry you two cuz I really like you guys but you do this to yourselves. How can you possibly fish and go to grocery store to buy meat and at the same time call Nugent a joke? Its hypocritical at the least.

I've seen plenty of video to know what happens and have read much about the work of Temple Grandin's autistic mind driving dramatic industry change. Very fascinating, I suggest you read about it.

Besides, I said "more" humane.

And Wipe, last time I checked bass aren't cattle.
