Inlaws insist on visiting to watch my sons basketball game.... (Could be a good thing or bad thing, since I either get stuck home, or sometimes they create enough of a "routine distraction" in the home that I can just take off unnoticed...)

*full report on your desk monday morning

Hanging home tonight. Duck hunting, taking my nephew to his soccer game and dinnr=er with my Son and his girlfriend before she heads back to school. Hitting the range Sunday morning for a while and working around the house.

Hopefully some carving tools I ordered from Amazon will arrive, so I can get some of the finer detail work done on my 2nd attempt at wood carving with a chain saw. The rough work is done, some sanding and burning done, just need to clean up the face and glue in some marbles for eyes, then wait for warmer weather to do any finishing or clear coat.

I'm pretty pleased with this first spirit face carving, but man some of the stuff I see people doing on utube videos is just amazing; this other one is a three piece gunslinger I watched a guy do. I had to snap a photo to look at it for some reference, but it's so cool.

The name seems familiar, I’ve watched a ton of YouTube videos and it’s likely I’ve seen one. There is a guy in western mass who’s name escapes me does some incredible huge scale work. Luckily I have a friend from this site with lots of woods and a tractor, picked up a load of wood yesterday and he lifted a five foot piece of pine that was the base of this carving for another carving or two.
