Question Respirator Filter question

I want to get the best I can get for sanding and spraying paint. In doing a little research I got overwhelmed by different acronyms and jargon. I have N 95 & P 100's downstairs.

Do the P100 OV protect against both??

What should I use for sanding?

Painting?

Thank you me and my lungs appreciate it

Brian

My suggestion would be to call 3M on their #800 and tell them what you are using them for.
They are very helpful and will tell you the model and cartridge #s you need for your application.

actually you probally need 3 filters ...
yea and i'm gonna hear crap about that statement ...but
one filter for the sanding / turning dust
(this just needs to be a "particulate" filter)
one filter for paints
one for epoxy

ok a quick explaination :
dust / particle filters are relatively inexpensive
the price of filters goes up depending on what you are using them for .
the chemical filters are different for paint and epoxy ..you need to check out what you need ......google 3M ..they have a very good chart
yes you can get one that will both ..but for my system it was cheaper (because they lasted longer) to get different filters .
sorry , keep losing my connection hope this makes sense

thanks guys - never knew you needed one for epoxy.

I just turned 2 dozen dannies this morning using a P100/OV and I have no irritation or dust in my nasal passages, which I did last weekend.

The other one I was using must have been for chemicals -
