Ed Mcmahon dies at 86

Heeeeeeeres Johnny.

In addition to the Johnny Carson show , ed was famous for his Publishers clearing house ads as well as many others. I think he also hosted a talent show or something once? A good straight man for Carson and from interviews I saw he was always classy when asked about other people. Always tried to say something nice or got out of answering gracefully.

Anyway , he died last night.

He used to host "Star Search" which was the original "Americas Got Talent" type of show.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio

Also did a stint with #^&#^&#^&#^& Clark with one of those "Bloopers" shows.

Not to put a sour note on his passing, but when my brother told me this morning, the first thing I said was "Did we get a notice from Publisher Clearing House?"

He also did a lot of work with Jerry Lewis's MD telethon.
He was a class act.

Marine fighter pilot in WWII and Korea, the guy had been there and done that. Classy all the way...

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from oppression; for if he violates this duty, he establishes a precedent that will reach to himself.

Spent most of his early years in Lowell.
