not sure what to categorize this music as...

Been listening to this type of music lately in the studio...some is dubstep, some is ambient.... I find it great for just 'working'... no lyrics to pay attention to.. just beats..

I can't tell you what category it is, but after living in San Francisco for 6 years, I always heard that style of music coming out of all the clubs with rainbow flags and lots of guys in leather chaps.

making s-b.com a kinder, gentler place for all

I think you're thinking of "trance".

This stuff reminds me of the German group Yellow from the 1980's...

Wiki says: Lorin Ashton describes Bassnectar's sound as "omni-tempo maximalism,"................OK then, good stuff though

I have been into this lately

and

pretty good open highway commuting stuff, actually heard it on the the NPR business program on FCR at 6:30pm.

finally an Ambient music thread

i never thought i'd live to see the day.......

it's my favorite type of music to think by
or creatively create by

Because as the astute NEBE has Gleaned
Lyrics focus one's mind on their meaning
where as subtle beats or tones ect...
leave the slate completely undefined
so that artistic expression is absolutely free.

and i know he has the good stuff
