Proud moment for Dad

So I bought my 10 year old son a 20 ga shotgun for Christmas this year. (Totally against my wife's wishes) This afternoon we went out on the water and set up for some ducks. He took his first shot to pattern the gun and he was off and running after that. After taken many shots....like almost a full box of shells he shot his first ever....well anything. He got a brant, and for me to see my boy shoot it was awesome. One of the proudest moments of my life. He was very excited to say the least. He has been coming out with us for a few years now and nows all about setting the decoys and wind and all the stuff that goes along with the hunt. This was the piece of the puzzle that was missing. I never shot a single shot today, it is his gun and I let him shoot it!!

he was actually pissed that I made him clean the gun...Haha. "Dad, I don't know how to do that!" Sit down boy....you're going to learn.

He did a good job on it and he was glad he did it because he said it looked new again.

Awesome !
I'm bet $ on this.
Keep doing what you are doing with your son and learning the appreciation of the outdoors.
With all the crap going on about gun control, killings & crime, kids like yours are that last ones who will go out and commit a crime with a gun.

We have gone through around 8 boxes of shells since Christmas. I am now reloading with all the stuff I had in the basement. It is working well as I can load them light for him. I don't know much but I know he is having a ball with his new sport.
