"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Bry, if the Skinhead comes out as planned, it's gonna be a corker - and there's no reason why it shouldn't.

The item I gave to Joe dates back to the '30's at the very least, I would bet - Uncle Crafty knew the guys who originally came up with it - or used it anyway. I think the original design may go back even further.

Actually, your Dad and I knew a lot of the older men (now passed on) who came up with this stuff - they were machinists so they could also produce the molds for said items they were tinkering with to cast them from tin or in some cases just lead - and I've got a couple of their molds, too, that were given to me.

Because it's now in the R&D stage, I am prohibited from saying anything further about it
