That first Jim Carroll record was a classic and one of the best records to come out of the NY punk scene. I had forgotten about it for a while and after his death dug it out and it still sounded great. Three Sisters is my favorite track although People Who Died is great for the gym.

Blast from the past. Good thing the forum rules don't make you post the year you first heard these bands! We'd both be outed, or is that dated?

(All the) People That Died ended up burned in my permanent music memory for some reason. I can remember it like I heard it on the radio yesterday. Probably more like thirty years ago. Just one of those songs. Keep 'em coming!

funny thing is i was putting some music on my ipod, as I got a much bigger memory now, and I was loading this music by a fantastic Celtic fiddle player out of Chicago named Liz Carrol and the name Jim Carroll came to my mind, blast from the past. Been a long time since i listened to him, but still good stuff. I remember the Basketball Diaries book he wrote back in the late 70's. Pretty sure a movie was made of it.
