Having trouble with norton 2009.....

Ive had it for a while now with no problems. Now all of a sudden I can't run a live update and my advanced protection doesn't work. I've tried calling them and got nowhere with it. Any one have any idea what could be wrong?

Dump it would be the best suggestion. It really is a horror show of an antivirus program.

Avira or AVG is the way to go.

I agree, there's freeware available that will handle most everything. AVG, Spybot and a good registry cleaner is the bulk of it.

Thanks for the reply's. I ditched norton and got AVG. I already use a pretty good registry cleaner.

You made the best choice. Norton bogs down the system way too much. Good choice going to AVG.

I hate Norton, and good luck removing it You will find the remover on their web site....
The best I have found is malwarebytes.org (trustMe) it's free Or you can send me a donation
You will also need AVG on top of it

AVG 8.x is now a virus/spyware suite.

I've found that Avira's AntiVir Personal Edition to be the best antivirus program out there.

For adware/spyware I like AdAware 2008/Spybot S&D/Spyware Blaster.

Nothing beats CCleaner for general cleanup and registry cleanup.
