Went over to New England Outfitters(where the plate shooting is held lastnight) they use target loads for the shotguns which is kinda odd.. they said that there is a 12 yr old that runs circles around alot of the older guys with tricked out hardware.. It will be interesting to see how it goes.. I know i'll get my arse handed to me but it will be fun.

hahaha yup... I made it out for an hour... that place was ok. looked at the beretta storms in .45 acp but couldn't justify plinking 8 bills for it... Wee Wee, that place seemed a little high priced for what they had plus their selection wasn't all that great... the guy knew you though

ok so after some research I settled on this baby for plate shooting and plinking.... got a good deal on her too.. there was a 200 dollar difference between scott moss and newington gun exchange... got the .40. gonna try her out tonight... for the first time someone has come out with a gun that is truly ambitexorous out of the box.

I believe that i've met him a couple of times. that's a shame that he passed away. on a positive note though did the plate shoot on friday and it was a BLAST... next week is centerfire pistols. the beretta storm that I picked up held her own. there were about 25 guys and I took 4th place overall. wound up going about 10-4 against guys shooting some crazy guns. A bunch of very friendly guys... they actually just changed the website.. i think it's fridaynightplates.com or something like that.. they also do idpa and ipsich(sp) definately want to try that stuff out. specialist, if you or mike wanted to come down some friday if they are doing pistols you can use one of mine.

Cool

Thinking of picking one up, just have to figure the economics of reloading what is essentially a wildcat caliber.

Redlite, you mentioned that you would get a Sig if it wasnt for Mass gun laws, what is the deal with the sig? I know it doesnt have a real safety, is that the issue? I just got done with a law enforcement academy and I shot a couple thousand rounds thru the sig 226, what a sweet gun i was hoping to get one. There were 34 people in my class and i only saw one jam, and the guns didnt get cleaned for the whole week at the range.

Everything is better on the rocks.

The newer Sigs are made in New Hampshire (except for the barrel, which is still forged in Germany). Older ones (made and assembled in Germany) are more desirable.

You have to be extremely careful when selecting carry (non-ball) ammo for the Sig because it is very finicky with hollowpoints and longer/heavier bullets. I experienced a failure to feed at the worst possible moment in a defensive situation a few years back, and this is after I put 250 jam-free rounds of the same damn ammo through it as recommended by the experts. I was so freaked out afterwards that for a while a carried a six-gun instead.

I was amazed to hear confirmation of the same problem from a UDT/SEAL (who is a fellow member on this board but shall remain nameless). The P-228's are (were?) issued to Naval Special Warfare personnel.

Apart from that, they are a joy to shoot at the range.
