Boy, did I miss this....

Catching bait was pretty easy at my first hunting hole this morning. Then took a run out to an area I had previously only fished for football tuna in years past. No real bottom structure and I was in 150' of water. 20 minutes of trolling and questioning my decision, I got a vicious hit and great fight that had me questioning whether the 6601 Abu Record was enough. It was. A solid 47" fish covered with sea lice that I got revived and on its way. Eight more macs produced eight more fish, though I lost two on circle hook that I immediately changed out... All but one were above the slot.
Happy to have been able to find some fish with size to them, and call in some friends' boats to join in the fun. Hope to be able to do it again, but if not, at least I had today!

I use a bait bridle clips with Maks gets the hook away and keep the circle from turning into the bait . Seems to work best for me ! But those are some above avg fish .. we’re the pics

I hate that I even boated this fish but had to in order to get unhooked. No tape but she is more than halfway across the deck on a boat with an 8'plus beam...

Nice … ray and I were out all night until 11ish this morning … miles and miles of Pogies off Plymouth so many a whale was coming up underneath them in 25 ft of water and not a bass to be found in any school we encountered . Go figure
