New ride...

being not too many moons away from my 60th birthday.. and planning ahead for my retirement.. last march I took advantage of a promotion at the local Polaris dealer... and bought a Polaris 570EFI ...
Most of the places I fish are a fair to long walk...often taking over an hour ( each way) ... I rigged the wheeler to accommodate all my gear, but made it so I could very quickly convert to my sled if I have restrictions ( deep snow or a short trip).. all my "systems " melt into one usable unit....

I made an auger perch from maple for the front, using "J" bolts and self locking wing nuts to hold it to the front rack, without drilling holes....to the mount I added a bracket and wiring for my GPS from the boat... an inland lakes chip allows me to have lake and pond maps on demand...
In the rear.. I modified a pair of hinged cover boxes for gear storage... a through bolted aluminum strap on each side captures a ratchet strap that fits through the factory tie downs on the rear rack... in the middle, I made a "live well" using a pair of buckets with foam inserts and overboard drains in the event I should slop some water....my tip up and jig rod "rocket launcher" from my mobile ice fishing sled fits on the back..

I front mounted ( factory)a 3000 lb. winch with wire rope with a home made ( retrievable) pipe allows me to pull through snow drifts or if I get stuck in slush...

the whole rig fits nicely in the back of my truck and saves me from loading and unloading thus allowing me more time to fish...

A good run is better than a bad stand!
