Hooks for a one and a half musso wood darter

Recently I purchased a beautiful one and a half ounce yellow wood musso darter from fleabay. it is gorgeous and I intend to fish it. What size of hooks do you use on that plug and should you go with two trebles or should you go with one on the middle and a siwash on the end and should that siwash be plain or have buck tail or feathers? thanks Charlie

Is this the 4 5/8" plug?
If so I think I was told some years ago that it fished best with a 2/0 belly treble and a 5/0 tail dressed siwash.

I have built and fished a few copies of this plug set up as above. It tended to run deep and with wider sweeps than I wanted. A bit unstable which might be because of too much tail weight. If yours rolls setup as above you might try dropping to either just a flag on the tail or perhaps 1/0 trebles front and back (but I've not tried either on mine).

After thinking about it you are talking about the smaller one with the thinner thru wire and George would be a better set up. I was talking about the next size up in my above post.

George I think its the same one I measured it at 4 and 3/4 Is this the musso that you patterned the darters you traded me for the musso lipless swimmer. I know that you used a softer wood as other mussos I have sanded down are hard as a rock guess that's why they call it rock maple. Hope this musso swims as well as the ones I got from you thanks Charlie
