Any sightings in close??

I was wondering if anyone has seen smaller fish inside of the bank? As a college student my gas budget is very limited and any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Usually this time of year if we strike out on the SWC or PH we get a shot at some footballs on the spinning rod on the way home.

In at least 5 trips since July I haven't seen one. We've made big long loops down towards the fishing ledge, back up towards the Gurnet and into Green Harbor. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

Not even a splash or stray jumper

Thanks for the help! I was afraid that was the case. Up north seems to be a little different but who knows.

Last year around this time, I got into a school of 70" fish off the Gurnet. Learned a few hard lessons about Penn 950s and their limitations.

Good to know on both fronts since that is what I have as a spinning reel!
