Question Rigged Eels

Where I fish in Delaware we rig eels on jig heads and swim them deep in the eddies in the local inlets. It works great but obviously is not practical for the shallower boulder fields along the coast in NE.

I want to learn to rig eels RI style and bring them with me on my trip to MA in July. I have done a lot of searching and reading on the various methods of rigging. I pretty much got the jist of it but there seems to be numerous methods for securing the head to the hook. I don't have soldering capabilities so attaching a reverse barb to the hook is not and option. I watched a Youtube video about making a knot-ball with the dacron to keep the head from slipping that seemed relatively simple. In addition, I have read references to a recent article in a magazine called the Fisherman where a swivel is used to secure the head but I can't find further details on this last method. Is there anyone who could explain it in detail?

Lastly does securing the rear hook with zip ties rather than floss have any negative impact on the action?

Thanks

Go check out Saltwateredge.com - they have a video showing eels rigged with Zip ties and the swivels.

Guy doing it is kind of ugly, but one of the best step-by steps around.

Thanks. I live in Maryland and couldn't find any web site for this magazine. Do you have a phone number or email where I can request a copy of your article?
