Martha Coakley's adds made me throw up in my mouth also. Apparently others didn't share my sentiments.

It's sad we don't have anybody that can even fill half of what we lost. I may have to vote Republican I was a Capuano voter and will not vote for Coakley.

in #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& land...these things make you "highly qualified"...we have an entire class of thugs that have been voted in by democrats that are currently "fixing" the economy, most of whom have never held a real job, are tax cheats, have never created a single job and have no accomplishments outside of government and most with no verifiable accomplishments while inside government who have spent their entire adult lives bashing the free market, capitalism, American exceptionalism and all the while yearning for European style socialism while plotting and scheming every way possible through the heavy hand of government to tax, regulate and fee every aspect of our society and our lives...stealing the product of the hard work of producers in this country to create a loyal and dependent underclass....the most f'ed up states are those that have been run by democrat legislatures for years....everything being done now is intended to create more dependency, more regulation, more heavy handed government control if not complete and eventual take over of various parts of what is left of the private sector....and there are a lot ot "Americans" cheering this on.......and they voted for the likes of Ted Kennedy and will vote another loser in his place...

To which parts of Scottw's quote are you referring?

"never had a real job"--Actually Bush did. He was part owner of the Texas Rangers baseball club for a while and was in the oil business for a while.

"are tax cheats"--Have not heard about Bush cheating on taxes.

"have never created a real job"--Owning a baseball team must create some jobs.

"have no accomplishments outside of government"--See above.

"No verifiable accomplishments while inside government"--Governor of Texas, President of the U.S.? Must be some accomplishments in there somewhere.

"have spent their entire adult lives bashing the free market, capitalism, American exceptionalism and all the while yearning for European style socialism"--Most everything I've heard Bush say was the opposite of this stuff.

"plotting and scheming every way possible . . . to tax, regulate and fee every aspect of our society"--Really? G.W.?

just sounds good and makes em' feel better...Bush, Bush, Cheney, Haliburton, last 8 years....etc...etc...

bet he doesn't know a thing about our "Safe Schools" Czar Ken Jennings, Van Jones, Anita Dunn, Andy Stearn or the many creeps advising this president....or the Global Warming email scandal, all of the stimulus money going to congressional districts that don't exist and the debt ceiling being raise to 2 trillion....facts which, in some cases, apparently make some a bit squeamish and cause them to stick their fingers in their ears and yell BUSH, BUSH, BUSH...as their country slips into oblivion....well....with a little push...

I would have ignored this one. An oil company that was thrust into financial disarray while he was an owner (hmm... sounds familiar) and a couple other failed oil ventures.

I wasn't comfortable mentioning the oil job, but it was in response to him never having a job outside of government, not whether he was successful in that job. Besides, if I mention the baseball job in which he was successful (the Rangers were not financially sound when he and his partners took over, and it became quite successful under his stay there, and he made several million on the sale of his shares) in fairness I should mention his failure as well. Anyway, one can, and should, learn as much from failure as well as from success.

Define Successful....Glad HE was successful but the Rangers won one whole play-off game, in the only play-off appearance under Bush's Watch , while he was the Managing General Partner . But HE walked off with a ton of money. Oh, and an Eminent Domain lawsuit hanging in the breeze...that the new owner agreed to pay just to make it go away.

As spence often likes to say, everything is on a spectrum. A team going from perenially dismal to winning seasons and a play-off performance is a tolerable degree of success--on the mid portion of the spectrum. Walking off with a ton of money is success on the high end of the spectrum. Being able to pay off an Eminent Domain lawsuit is a fruit of that success.
