Doing the Recycling

Wife always nags me about it. I told her I'd get to it today.

Repurposing is always great. My first lures came from a room divider out of pine. Made nice DANNYS.

Beech. Only the second plug I ever made out of it. Forgot how nice it is. Feels like a trip to Downes and Rader coming up.

I burned lots of beech in my wood stove for a good year. Looked like it would have been nice to turn. How is the weight? I am thinking darters.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.

Burn the beech, fish the plastic.
Sounds like you.
It is very similar to maple. My sample size is limited but I'd say it felt like it fell in between soft and hard maple (which is a good place to be) and the body I turned weighed a bit less than a similar body turned from a heavy birch blank.

Skip, thanks for the offer. I might take you up at some point for needles but most what I need now is 5/4 and 6/4.

Let me know what you find there as I might want to try some larger size stock in the future for darters.
