Real Seats

I have a question on real seats. I know some people use them and others don't. My problem is that the lower turning portion of the seat usually gets jammed and it is extremely difficult to twist the lower part down without twisting and stripping to get the reel off.

Is their anything I should be doing or is this just part of fishing sandy beaches and I should go without a real seat.

You could go to a Plate seat from Fuji or use Coasters
