Portly Angler Challenge 2010 - Official Thread

Here are the rules for the challenge, slightly modified from 2010.

1. Entry fee is 1 Wooden Plug

2. Competition will be based on percentage of weight lost (Weight Lost / Weight at Start = Percentage Lost) not on actual pounds.

3. To get in just post in this thread "I'm In" by 12 midnight on January 2nd (Relax and enjoy New Years Day). You can post your starting weight. A Pic is Optional......its just for reference. If anyone would like to take the "Lady Angler" option just Say "I'm In with the Lady Angler Option" when they enter, then they can just PM me their starting weight and their updates and I will just post your Percentages only at the update intervals.

4. On the 1st and 15th of every month post how much you've lost and we'll figure out what your percentage is.

5. The contest ends May 1st 2010....just in time to hit the Suds. Post your Final Weight and we will see who the Winners are.

6 The Second place winner will receive 3 plugs and the 1st Place winner will receive the rest. Of course the 1st Place guy gets to pick 1st.

Signup list:
  1. John R - start: 328 (yeh, I know) | Jan15 320 | Feb1 ~ 314
  2. Quick Decision -start: ?
  3. Turf Guy - start: 266 Jan15 259 | Feb1 ~ 254

I'm NOT.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

Fat Boy jredfly is in at 218

Here it is 218 in my underwear - not pretty and yes I did have to suck in my stomach to take the picture. May the games begin!

I have a very special BigFish plug I'll send to the winner as a bonus, assuming the loss is 35 pounds +

One big fat happy family!

Glad to see John let BrianS in - the more the merrier I say!!! One big fat happy family - Can we keep a total weight for the group? That would be cool to see total poundage. Anyone on the MA South Shore that want to meet up to walk Nantasket or any other suggested area on Saturdays or Sundays

Joining in late isn't a problem. The later you join the more of a challenge it gets but whenever you join it'll be good for you - that's what counts.

As for the plugs, I'll probably have people bring them to the shows and drop off - no need to mail individually.

this is true... I drink about a case of beer a year.

MY LAST SUPPER/INDULGENCE. I went to the Venus tonight for a my last supper. I don't usually eat like this and I feel like crap right now but it was great.
1st 1 glass of water and a coors light
2nd fancy bread with olive oil dipping sauce
3rd clam chowder
4th half of a 2.5lb baked stuffed lobster with scallop stuffing
also 4th 2 baked stuffed jumbo shrimp with potatoes and veggies
also 4th 1 bottle of white wine
And dessert. 1 expresso, 1 tall johnny walker black neat and a warm brownie with hot fudge, ice cream and whipped cream.

Time to break out the Richard Simmons tapes and a head band That's after 1 more drink. Vodka and cranberry.

I miss the Venus so much. Best baked stuffed lobster hands down in my book. You dropped some serious coin there my friend also! I think if I had to have my last meal on earth ever you just nailed it though minus the Coors Light and White Wine.
