Off-Shore Oil drilling rumored @Georges Bank again

This morning in the Herald I saw a very small article about the possiblity of drilling in the near future. In the 7o's thier was a tremendous amount of talk and actual investment in this regard. Most of the investors lost thier shirts. Its kind of interesting that this is occuring on the heals of two proposed wind farms. At least we know that you can fish around a well-drilling rig.

from what ive heard, George's Bank has oil beneath the surface of the bottom. the fishing fleet's lobbyists in the 70's put the stomp on that proposal when they wrote the first Magnassen Act. im not sure if they have re-newed it yet, but i know the issue has come up again while they have been debating it.
