Pikie, Needle and Egg

These are my last plugs for the year. It's just too cold in the shed. Sorry Joe P. I promise you'll get the first darter once the weather warms up.

Thanks for all the help and info that's posted here. You guys are great and I hope everyone has a Happy and Safe Holiday Season. Here's to many large fish on homemade plugs next year.

Jointed Pikie - 7.25" & 3.8 ounces
Needle - 7" & 2.7 ounces
Egg - 2.5" & 2.7 ounces

Thanks for the kind words.

The paint on the needle is actually a bright yellow and pink "fogged over" with Createx Chameleon Gold. It really tones down the brighter colors and helps smooth out the color transitions. It also adds some color changing effects where the colors are blended. Too bad Createx decided to discontinue it. I'm down to a little over an ounce. I've tried doing the same with Pearl White but it doesn't have the same effect.

Sorry but I don't know too much about the egg plugs. I've seen others build them and wanted to give it a shot. I used the basic lip types and hook positions I've seen others use. I have a few others primed that I'll try different hooks and lips on in the spring. I'm hoping it will be a good peanut imitation in the fall.

Happy Holidays and Thanks Again!!!

MAC,

Most definately! Let's talk some more in the spring.

Striperhound,

Nice try but the needles already spoken for. It's going into a swap.

if you mix in pearl white with your yellow and your pink, or just the use the pearl pigment youll get kinda the same effect as the gold chamelion, its just not gold.

Christian,

True, it's very close and I did do a few plugs that way when I found out it was being discontinued.
