Freshwater Chum

I fish on a Lake and was wondering if chumming works in freshwater? I have caught an 8 pound striper after chumming for catfish with sour corn, milo, and range cubes, but I am not sure if it was the chum.

If so, what is a good chum? Will my catfish mix work?

Any help is appreciated.

yeah the grain chum is supposed to be the hottest chum...

whatever grain you use.....you let it ferment in the sun for about a week or two
until it smells real nasty.... make sure you have tight fitting lids
because you don't want to spill this stuff where you have to live
like in a car or a boat....

then dump it in gingerly here and there...@ your spot....

then you can use your regular catfish baits because the catfish
will definitely be hanging around and will be HUNGRY

here's a link for ya

I used to chum for catfish with cat food. I let it sit out and spoil and then froze it. Talk about a stink, but it works in big water for big catfish.
