Question Anyone Know What Happened To Eddy Andleman?

From WEEI sportsradio? Just a curious question, where did he go? Did he retire? Move to another station?

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

He's on 1510 "The Zone" now between 1-3pm I think. He has lost a lot of listeners over the years with all his food talk. He'd rather talk about hotdogs than the world series. I used to like him too.

I'm surprised he hasn't had a massive heart attack yet. I go back to the Sports Huddle when it was on the "Wyoming Blasting and Zoning" station. It bummed me out when the Bruins forced WBZ to drop them, because I couldn't get WHDH very well at the Cape---it was right next to some French-Canadian station on the dial that interfered with the signal. Couple of classic moments----calling the hotel restaurant in KC during a Sox road trip and reserving 25 tables for one. Calling B#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&gham Palace to try to get them to trade two of their guards for Len St. Jean and whoever was the other starting guard for the Pats.

Best Eddy moment! Close to 30 years ago Eddy was bashing the Bruins goaltenders. He said he had a solution and brought out the bear that used to wrestle in the old Sportsman Show at the Hines. Eddy starts bragging that this is a real Bruin and would be a great goldtender, trouble is the bear couldn't stand Eddy either and decides to take a few swipes at him. Eddy starts screaming "get this thing out of here!"

I grew up in the neighborhood of Boston known as Allston. Eddie was and still is a trustee of the West End House Boys club. Many of us got to know him over the years...esp when his sons went to camp there with my brothers.

Later in life I got to know him again at good old Suffolk Downs.

My favorite Eddie moment....is a tie

1...Eddie was a Jockey in a Celebrity Horse Race for charity at Suffolk downs....think Humpty rides a Horse

2...Eddie delivering his kids who were 10 & 12 years old to camp in Maine ...in a Limo..cool for lil kids

He's still living in Lynnfield, and if you're real lucky, you can see him at the Seawitch on Rt1 in Peabody, consuming the Fisherman's Bucket for 4 all by his lonesome.

After Eddie'd find out where the caller was from, Eddie'd ask have they ever eat at such and such a place, then he'd go on to say what dish was his favorite there I also didn't like the fact he never made an effort to understand hockey

I liked him a bit when I EEI first started but his schtick got old. I too got tired of the food talk and the animosity he had with Ned Flanders got old too.

I think the Big Show is the best on there though I'm really getting sick of Ordway - talks way too much, het, just like Andleman did...

And that is more north of Boston...

I'm so glad the EEI is on FM in Rhody now... Had to buy a GE SuperRadio just to get in 850am for the whiner line
