What's your plan for the 2017-2018 season?

I plan on taking more people out for their first time on the ice, and see if they like it. I'm not talking people that haven't fished before, but those that haven't ice fished before.

I would like to try new places and new tactics, but I'll have to wait and see how the season develops...

I built a new hard side to put on my favorite lake... I also bought an Eagle combination plow for my wheeler... a V plow would have come in handy last season... this year it wont be a problem..

I'd like to do a little more laker jigging.... with a little luck the broads will freeze on Winni early and I can get to my honey hole..

A good run is better than a bad stand!

That will change this year. Already got the gear ready and waiting.

sweet.... I've got 2 tanks set up and about 500 shiners between the 2... lake W got a shot of salmon fingerlings 2 falls ago(2016 state stocked them in several "surprise" lakes).. 6 trap rule still applies but the smelt population crashed.. average size of the rainbows is down and the number of white perch also suffers...only thing doing well is the pesky smallies... they are like a plague.

I got a pleasant surprise yesterday while fishing with my nephew.

Since the water was getting colder, and some shoreline marsh had skim ice, I figured we'd try for anything that might bite and get him some experience using different styles of lures.
Tried jerk baits, crank baits, buzz baits and spinners, letting him see and feel how they felt when reeling them in. Although we didn't get any fish, he did ask me if we were going to go ice fishing this year?
Nice to know that he hadn't forgotten and was also looking forward to it!!!

Find warm gloves and chase after trout in the lake down the street! Also bringing the FF to finally see the bottom without all the weeds!

broke out the gear, and re-rigged my tip-ups and jigging rods.
Sometime this week I'll go through the tackle bag and see what needs replacing, repairing or reusing!
