Never, at some point we will all have to switch to turbo diesels, and when that gets too much we are looking at ripping apart a prius and mouting an outdrive to it hahah.

just more reason to sell quick and get a boat with an inboard.

you don't need to run wide open.

There's a reason the old BASS BOATS were build with inboards.

The old lady next door to me complained the other day about the price of oil, gas, taxes. I told her she was sitting on a fully paid 325,000 asset and only using one room.
She was taken aback when I recommended that she sell it, and buy a trailer in Coventry. If she did that, she'd have 260,000+ to live off and she could do anything she wanted to - travel, play bingo, and I'd have a neighbor who could afford to get their lawn taken care of.

sorry fellas....quit yer bitching!

We all need to reduce our dependance on that $hit! How many of us have a vehicle that gets over 30mpg?

When we reduce our usage the price WILL go down.

It is a supply and demand problem...the demand is WAY WAY up and we are the reason for the demand being so high.

I know it sucks but we can control the price of oil.

I just bought a 1993 f-350 for my truck camper I am sure that gets about 7 mpg and will cost about $120 or more to fill now the gas will be going over 3 dollars a gallon by Memorial day, so the price at the marina will be $4.50

they raised the price because of katrina and they learned it would be ok to leave the price there because they got away with it. the head of Exxon just got a 400 millon retirerment package and they are making record profits. we suffer while the rich line there pockets. if you believe that there is a shortage think again

i had lotsa beetles man..4 of -em, a vw van and a vw deisel rabbit too...
the diesel rabbit had dual fuel tanks and with 50 MPG and i had a 1000 mile cruising range before needing fuel again.

well then ,you'll appreciate this...then...NEBE

back in 1972 i had bought a VW bug and my wife and i were planning to drive it across country to San Diego (3000 miles) for awhile....(10 years LOL), and the seats were basically shot....and un-fixable...

i wanted to camp along the way...and to not have to spend money on motels...so rather than replace the seats i took them all out and built my own..because well ->i'm kind of eccentric you could say...and we were crossing the country with less than $400.00 dollars to our name.
can you imagine that? today?

anyways: i built a complete frame out of oak first ! at the aproximate height and then covered them with thin foam and then a rubber backed canvas from an old meleigh printer mat....salvaged from the Daisy corporation in New bedford....where i once worked.
with 1 foot thick foam on top of that and then a soft fabric on top.

So that the front seats were hinged and they could lay perfectly flat. So to make a long story shorter... in essence i had created the "BED BUG".... and you could be comfortably sleeping while the other person drove. In front of the seats were padded flip ups.

Or if you pulled into a camp ground real late at night (when closed)
to shower, shave, and to do some laundry...you could be sleeping in no time with your VW tent and i had compartments under the seats for all your stuff too.

Then at the break of day (before they opened) you take off without having to pay... heh heh heh.. we actually only made it as far as Tennesee when i blew a hole in piston number 3 so i had to rebuild the motor in a single day with used parts....but thats another good story for another day.

I'd sometimes rent a camp ground for a day pull my vw motor and tear it down and be gone by check out time... the next morning....

Gas was so cheap in those days its unreal to even think of it and i crossed the country more than ten times.

We have to start using less to become less dependant on foreign oil. Also nuclear power never should have been ruled by environmentalist. But now many environmentalist are changing their mind when they see that nuclear energy is ozone depleting hydrocarbon free. Many countries in Europe already employ nuclear energy and this country probably will too. Is it possible that we are running out of oil? Should we be content that our oil is still some of the cheapest oil of any industrailized country. You could research this stuff for years and the fact of the matter is that if your not on the inside you probably won't know the truth.

I had a datsun B210 in 1975 that averaged 38 MPG for the driving I did. My ccousin had a harley that had an engine 200 CC's bigger than the engine in my car!! It still went 70 MPH down the highway all day long and lasted about 10 years before rust completely ate it alive.
