Puttin' a bow on it ...

Things seem to be slowing down a bit on the board, so it must be time to go fishing. These are some small ones (4.5") I spun to use up the last of my cedar. I need to find some smaller hooks to finish them off, or find a way to use split rings so I can use some lighter hooks I have on hand. How do you guys open those split rings? I bought a split ring pliers, but still can't figure out how to use it.

think of the point on those plyers as a small wedge. By closing on seam of split ring it will open enough to thread on hook .. get another bite on whole ring, once your started and keep spinning it until its on .. One of those things.. easy to show , hard to explain .. Got decent bait shop near you ? They should be able to show you .. Plugs look great ..

That star burst effect is brilliant! First time I've seen that used intentionally. Very cool.

Those are awesome, especially like the Chartruese/blue back one.

I've got a few to finish up and I want to spin up a couple of BM Junior types with an eelskin groove for Cutty then I'm done til next season....Time to fish
