I love it when it's this cold, windy and there's snow on the ground. It's the perfect time to make large batches of chicken or beef stock as you can just plop the hot liquid outside in the snow and it's brought to a safe temp a hell of a lot faster than you can unless you have an immersion chiller.

This is April/May weather in Iowa! Hell, when I was growing up (let see that would be when I was an undergrad at ISU) it would not get above ZERO for weeks and when it reached 32, sorority row broke out the bikini's! Kind of like those chick and ice augers.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

I got -15 in the truck this morning

Diesels make strange noises at that temperature even plugged in. Trees crack in the woods. My ball joints were shriveled. Whole front end was knocking over bumps.

Haven't seen these temps in a long time. 3 days just took a weeks oil out of the tank. Pellet stove is crankin sweet. 71 in the house this morning. 42 in the shop. I left the heat on. Burst pipe on other side of building last week.

been plugged in 3 days now here. Can't afford the electric bill to keep her plugged in all the time. It's got the quick heat shunt burner in it but it stinks. Never gets real warm for the first 10-12 miles. The only bad part about diesels and vans.

Love hearing that thing crank up in the winter. We had 5 degrees here this am. I'll leave it unplugged tonite. Snowing at 5 degrees. You don't see that often here.

Must be global warming.

ya know its cold when

your temperature Gauge flat lines
and stays there

when the moisture on your mustache instantly freezes

when your dog begs to go outside
but after sticking their head out the door
change their mind and say NO way Jose

your tires seem flat
