Aurora

I saw this on fb earlier. Keep an eye north tonight! I'm going to head out in a few hours to see if I can spot anything.

I drove 11 hours in a vain attempt to see it when I was in AK... Hopefully I can drive 20 and see it here!

No dice. Cloud cover moved in from due north when I went out to check, around 11... Bright ass half moon didn't help either.

when they really go off it is sick. i've seen them north of the arctic circle in Norway and it was crazy

Only saw them once, back in the early 80's when I was a teenager. Did not know what an Aurora was then and was not sure if was whatever I smoked that night that was causing the flying colors...

I used to see these all the time years ago when I worked 12-8. If they were real close it almost seemed like you were driving right through them. Always green, never any other color.
