Bruins/Flyers Thread

Is this the year they make it past the second round? or beyond?

Who needs power play goals anyway?

****- let me borrow Ferrence's glove for a moment so I can "show" it to you Kevin.

If anyone thought the Canadiens fans were A-holes, you have not met many Philly fans....

Should be a good series, but because Philly has to play musical chairs with their goaltending, I say Bruins in 5

Don't worry, I'll be keeping my mouth shut during this one... I didn't say a peep of smack in the last series, and it worked out OK...

Although the end result wasn't there

Good luck to both teams. I respect the Bruins and their fans... They seem to be pretty hardcore. Not as many bandwagoners in that bunch than I've noticed with the Sox and Pats (honestly, no offense meant... people on this board are very die hard about all their sports teams, but that's not representative of everyone I've met... Ex. Pink Hat Nation). Should be a very physical series. If the Bruins can solve their PP woes they stand a chance... Otherwise it'll go to the Flyers.

Flyers in 6. Clean play, no injuries, and good hockey!

Saw Pronger went to the locker room before the teams lined up to shake hands after the game. He wanted to protect his hand.... You know that hand is gonna get some "attention" from the B's..... They are not the same team without him IMO.

Last night's performance has me thinking that Chara is hurting and trying to hide it. The way he was mishandling the puck make me think it's a shoulder injury.

Philly in 5 , sorry. Just a better team IMO. I got history with the coach and if the B's can't win I'd like to see Pete L. win it, but I'll be rooting for the B's.

a heck of a lot of questionable penalty calls today. After watching the previous series Philly is so slow compared to Montreal that I am thinking they are a much better draw for us. Of course i don't expect us to dominate and for them to actually show up in next game but I am starting to think their style suits us much better. Maybe my prediction is off kilter for Philly in 6. I hope so.

Impressive, solid win in game one. Kreji woke up, Marchand continues his pesky ways. Only issue (this is gonna sound familiar), was the pathetic powerless power-play.

Philly goaltending as predicted was bad.

Was hoping to split in Philly, now I wanna see them take both.

They are a better match up for sure!

WTF are they doing playing Tomas Kaberle at all. This guy could be the worst player we have. HE SUCKS

Yeah he does... Seidenberg, and Thomas are spectacular one minute and them do something stupid the next. Thomas should stay in the net more, and not drop so much.

I dont agree there, When you got him and chara on the ice you got the 2 best blue line defense men since pronger and al mcinnis. The b's forwards on the power play has no move ment and they always pass back to there defensemen north to south instead of east and west. When you got kaberla setting up the shot of chara matter on time before one goes in. Monday night B's get a power play goal.

Kaberle kills the power play. He slows going into the offensive zone, makes obvious passes and can't get a shot through when he doesn't force a pass.. He avoids contact, won't take a hit to make a pass (a real problem when your as indicisive as he is) and in our zone he stands in front of the net, behind the attacking forward. I saw at one point the Flyers had the B's running around in there end for a full minute and the only one who didn't touch the puck was Kaberle. Bench him and the team is better.

Game 1 was different than I thought it would go. I'm glad the b's got the win. Maybe they can do it. I thought they'b be gassed for this series a role over like a cheap you know what. Game 2 should be a good one now that we've pissed off Philly by embarassing them on their home ice.

Power Play Contest

We should have a contest on how many power plays go by before they finally get one. Who knows maybe they won't get one. What are they on now 21-22?? I say they score on their 26th power play opportunity. Anybody else?

I'm hoping they go another series without scoring a PP goal.

I officially get more up set when we get a power play over a penalty.

I already lost my own contest. They were already 0 for 26 going into this game! They are now 0 for 27! Brilliant!

During the OT last night the flyers had more opptys to score .... then we took over and and scored on a great shot (the goal judge must have been blind to miss that call)

And the ref too who was standing right there...

Win the next one and then we will really start hearing the "remember last year" comments.

Series is not over by any stretch- keep giving up 50+ shots per game and the outcomes will change.

Cannot stand to watch another game on Versus- those two knucklehead jack-wagons were a joke. They were so in love with van-reems-dyke, even predicting the Flyers would win in OT. Truth is, the Flyers choked, missing a wide-open net (Danny B).

Not liking the fatigue the B's are showing with potentialy two more rounds to play. Hoping McQuaid is OK, need him as the Sheriff will be rusty...

Epicly hilarious. Poopfaced pink hated chicks outside fenway.

Questions like: What shape is the baseball diamond?

On another note. Stressful watching the B's last night. I found myself screaming at the television when they kept playing after the final goal

They were saying his name every sentence as if they just learned to pronounce it. van Riemsdyk did have a good game but you can't claim he is going to get the over time goal for the hat trick.

By the looks of it McQuaid won't be back next game, I rather see Kampfer play then the Sheriff.

I couldn't agree more. Although Boychuck has really stepped it up. I sure would like to see Shane replace Kaberle when Adam McQuad comes back.
