Grilll replacement parts

uh...venting....I bought a Charmglow from Home depot about 4 years ago...not expensive..maybe like 300 bucks, but great grill...the plates are going unbetween the burners and the grates..they're like 20 bucks a piece and there are 4 of them. On top of that ther burners are so/so and will soon have to be replaced...other than that the grill is in great shape and I really like it. Just curious if the MHP's and the Weber's wear out as soon as this thing. Just hate spending like 150 on a 300 grill.

I usually do the replacements parts on a grill once, then get a new one next time they rot out. This will get me about four years total. We use it in the winter too. They all rot out imho.

Cool

i use those worn out grills for brickett holders.....
then later chuck-em.... but now, i use a few match-lite charcoal brickette's
underneath my pure wood charcoal to get them a-goin.

best of both worlds - so i no longer buy grills
and spend the cash on gear or Christmas.

I bought a Weber 4 years ago, it gets used 365 days a year, And it is like brand new on the outside, the inside is in good shape, if you buy a new one spend the extra money

From what I've seen, the basic Weber is still a good grill and less than 5 bills. Keep it covered and it should last a while. Many grills fail early as they're just not made to take the heat they can produce. Cooking at full blast will really fatigue non-stainless or bronze parts, and even stainless will suffer from too much heat.

Vermont Castings used to make a nice grill but I'm not sure if Home Depot ruined the company or not.

I've got a sweet all Stainless made by Lynx (when they made for Kitchenaid) that's going 6+ years strong. The piezoelectric starters have died but other than that it's working as new. It also has a lifetime warrantee on all stainless parts, so I'm assuming this will last a while. Wouldn't have bought it but I happened upon a rare deal to good to pass up.

The point being, not all of them rot out, but there's a cost to performance.

All things considered, if price is a big factor be prepared to replace it faster.

My buddy has a 4 yo Weber, and he had to replace all of the guts this year. The guts were more expensive than a Charbroil, but when you pay 7-800 for a grill what do you expect

Earlier this summer I had the same issue. I found out the reason webers last so long is that the oven box is made out of cast aluminum. There is another maker that does the same for a little less money by the name of Broil King. Good Luck and happy grilling.

This is why I buy the cheapie charbroil. All the replacement parts can be had at Joblot or Benny's for under $20.I'm on my third year with one that I actually paid $80 for.I replaced the drip bar this Spring for a whole whopping $10.

I'm done with "Cadillac" grills.Cost's to much to upkeep.Except for a Vermont Castings...that's a grill I wish I had the coin for.
