www.Striped-Bass.com and our members participate in many area fishing tournaments as well as hosting some of our own "S-B Tourneys"
Regional Tournaments where S-B fields a team:
Surf Club Challenge - A Fall Classic that brings clubs from all over New England to support great causes and to bring anglers together from different clubs. Causes supported by this torunament include the Muscular Distrophy Association and in more recent years, Multiple Sclerosis. Thousands of dollars have been raised towards both charities.
In 2005 Striped-Bass.com took first place in the Surf Club Challenge.
On The Water's Striper Cup: - A new tournament created in 2006 and modeled after the renouned Shaeffer Cup Tourney of decades ago but adapted for the needs of modern day anglers and conservation.
In the innaugural year, Striped-Bass.com came in 6th place but actually placed very high for a club weighin in a significant portion of shore caught fish.
Striped-Bass.com Member Tournaments: S-B hosts two shore tournaments for members only. First is a Catch & Release Tourney called the "4 Leg" which brings anglers to fish in RI and Mass in the Spring and Fall. The second is the Year Long Tourney which allows for the largest fish caught from shore either by official weight in slip or caught and released with another S-B angler.
Individual Tournaments:
S-B has many members participating in other tournaments and doing quite well. Two of our members, Leo & Keith, have placed first place in their respective divisions at the world class, month long Martha's Vineyard Striped Bass and Bluefish Derby with Leo winning the largest shore Striped Bass in back to back years - an amazing accomplishment. Many of our members join "The Derby" every year and particpate with and against thousands of anglers every year.
