When painting your plugs, how do you hold them? Do you use a stand of some kind? What I did on a couple of mine is I bought a piece of 1/8 inch rod (so it fit in my thru-hole) and put the plug on the end and held it horizontally and just spun it as I sprayed. (using rattle cans). How do you guys do it? If you have any photos, that would be great.....just in search of maybe a better mouse trap. Thanks all.:D

I do it pretty much the same way as you describe. Use a section of thru-wire in the butt of the plug. Create a hook at one end to hang it while drying. Kink the other end some so it will hold in the plug.

BF, i get screw hooks one size larger than the thru hole and screw them into each end of the plug. Then get a clear 2'x2' storage box and attach light springs on the inside of the box.

This way you can stretch the plug with the end hooks across the springs and spray. Best part is by turning the hooks a 1/4 turn you can work on each side without overspraying the top, bottom, or under side. 1 side at a time if you choose.

oh,also by holding the plug by the screw hooks when your done you don't get hand oil on the paint to screw up the epoxy coat. Hope this helps.:)
p.s. you can use the same hook and spring method when you attach them in the dryer. I digress!:boots:

I use 18 ga picture hanging wire ..NOT Aluminun its weak.. I think its galvy steel .. Buy it by the roll.. cheap.. I thru wire with this wire and make a loop or hook on eather end. Hold so plug is VERTICAL.. looking at Belly ,,,Spray Up and Down... flip spray UP and Down.. Now looking at Top vertical .. Spray Up and Down ,,flip . Spray Up and Down .. Hang it from ceiling on other wire or hook or nail ,,P.S. I can Get bailing wire free from work type electricans use....DON"T use this dirty ,gruby , oily wire .. You'll cotaminate your finish ..No Free Lunch..,, I may give justplugits way a whirl..

I use the picture wire too and do it the way jigman described. Unless I am doing a knucklehead, then I use the method justplugit described.
