BF, i get screw hooks one size larger than the thru hole and screw them into each end of the plug.Then get a clear 2'x2' storage box and attach light springs on the inside of the box.
This way you can stretch the plug with the end hooks across the springs and spray. Best part is by turning the hooks a 1/4 turn you can work on each side without overspraying the top,bottom, or under side. 1 side at a time if you choose.
oh,also by holding the plug by the screw hooks when your done you don't get hand oil on the paint to screw up the epoxy coat. Hope this helps.

p.s. you can use the same hook and spring method when you attach them in the dryer. I digress!
