BEETLE 08-13-2004, 01:06 PM :hidin: C-5 CC 08-13-2004, 01:09 PM My little brother lives in Naples...I am keeping my fingers crossed. Brandon BrianS 08-13-2004, 01:13 PM friends in tampa bay we are going to visit in a couple weeks.. guess we will get to see some carnage RIJIMMY 08-13-2004, 01:14 PM Been getting emails from my folks, they're in North Ft. Myers, its going to be hitting them head on. It was supposed to be north of them but it changed direction a few hours back. They're not right on the coast but its still going to be rough. the houses down there don't have basements to go to if anything happens. I'm hoping for the best. bart 08-13-2004, 01:19 PM Originally posted by C-5 CC My little brother lives in Naples...I am keeping my fingers crossed. Brandon my god-mother lives there as well. C-5 CC 08-13-2004, 01:24 PM I spoke to him an hour ago and he said the wind was just starting to pick up. He hasn't lived down there long enough to have witnessed a big storm yet...I guess his hurricane virginity is about to be snatched away;) fishsmith 08-13-2004, 01:25 PM my folks have a home in N. Redington beach(between St.Pete and Clearwater), thank god there here in Mass now. At least the heaviest winds are supposed to hit at low tide, if there is a low tide. beachwalker 08-13-2004, 01:41 PM pretty breezy wonder what Jeb will do ? RIJIMMY 08-13-2004, 02:00 PM Gov. Jeb Bush said he had sought a federal disaster declaration from President Bush (news - web sites), his brother, and urged residents to stay wherever they were. "This is not the time to be getting on the interstate. It is time to seek a safe place to be with family and friends inside of your region," the governor said. Rob Rockcrawler 08-13-2004, 02:16 PM my grandma lives 15 miles north of tampa with my aunt and uncle. they left their property this morning, they were smart enough to make reservations for a motel 2 days ago. they just moved there from old lyme CT last month. they have been thru a few storms, grandma rode out the storm of 38'. i hope their new house doesn get shmucked up too bad. chris L 08-13-2004, 02:25 PM a good bar is a safe haven ! last time I was stuck in a bar during a hurricane free beers for all for the rest of the night , strippers included . oh I forgot to mention that they wouldnt let anyone leave in their vehicles and of course I didnt tell them I live right accross the street .
