I've never fished them but the ones I've picked up felt good. We'll probably have them next year. MAC 11-05-2004, 05:21 PM I think he is somehow related to GLoomis. I checked one out last year and thought the rating was a little off. It was rated 1 1/2 to 6. maddog2020 11-05-2004, 10:31 PM Rogue's are nice - super light and responsive blanks. I would cut the rating in HALF and then you would be OK. ;) The 8.5' - 2pc says to 5 oz, but it can do about 3 oz tops. I wish they used regular cork tape instead of the stair tread tape! No real complaints - I have cracking at foot of guides on the rods and they offered to re-wrap them for me, but I haven't bothered to send them back. Until one breaks its just cosmetic. :) Vermonter 11-09-2004, 01:43 PM I believe it was GLoomis' brother who setup and started Rogue in Oregon, also read recently tho that they might be in financial trouble(heard on another site so I have no first hand knowledge). Finesse 23 11-09-2004, 02:49 PM What I have heard is basically bits and pieces of whats been said above .. The Rogue plant has some sort of affiliation with the original G.Loomis...not sure who ...brother, or how related. Bob Loomis is listed as design guy. Rogue Rods (http://www.roguerods.com/) Then its my understanding that Shimano has the “Loomis line” ....but changed names and such I had heard that they (Rogue) were having some “issues” with their blanks so my local supplier (a G. Loomis dealer) was waiting to see how that played out. Any truth to that ?? I found all this out as I tried to get a blank (an original G. Loomis SW84-16) and got most of that as "the story" I have found a very close alternative through St. Croix …but I wish I could find another original Loomis !! :( vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
