My favorite needlefish size is 7", only because I've caught fish on it. Also, my favorite color is black over purple, and again because I have caught fish on it. :D How bout' you?

I'm partial to a Gibbs blk/white stubby, a Hab's 3OZ Super Pink, and the smaller Hab's Parrot...

My favorite needlefish is the one starpped to the gums of a raging bass ;)

I haven't had any luck with the needlefish. Hopefully things will change.

I have the 1.5 oz by Habs and a smaller boones needle. nothing on either one.

You gotta fish them with a dropper - increases your shot bigtime...

let's see, black and purple, black, balck and gold, white, pink, parrot, oh heck...I like 'em all!

I've done well with the small green/white needle except I don't like the screw in hook eyes.

I also like a red/white needle about 7-8" inches. A company called Driftwood Lures in NJ makes a great one! Well balanced, casts nicely and won't sink like a rock.

I like my needlefish.All black, black/white belly all yellow and yellow/white belly.7.5 inches long weigh 2 0z. and float nose high.Killer lure in the fall.

A dropper is the same thing as a teaser, at least where I'm from.

From about here down, we call them teasers, up the coast they are droppers. Same thing, different name.

needles: IMO, one of the hottest plugs for bass bar none. Just about all colors work. I fish a yellow or black/yellow super strike the most but this year the habs 2 oz olive color outfished my superstike collection 3:1. Exceptional lure. I would like to get my hands on the 3 oz. models.

Gibbs needles works well also and look similar to habs but don't cast quite the same but you can get them anywhere...I even saw them in "Benny's" the other day.

I fish with some form of needlefish about 40% of the time all other plugs about 40% of the time and eels 20% of the time. I think this is a must-have plug for the surf fisherman.

I was a bonehead - I gave a sweet Olive 3oz Habs to a coworker that likes to fish and has a nice CC Parker fishboat - He hasn't even used the boat in the 3 years, let alone the plugsince I gave it to him :mad: :p

My best luck have been on all black super strikes 7" and the more natural off green color. Got the 1.5 oz habs needlefish in pink and caught a couple of fish on that one last month.

Give me a Gibbs white stubby good size and imatation of a lot of things - Peanut bunker, mullet, smaller herring. You can fish it like a pencil popper or real slow 6-8" below the surface.

I've had the best luck with the Gibbs stubby in white belly with green top, and all black on dark nights. Use with black deceiver as a teaser.

BM you strike me as the kind of guy that ........if you got a phone call from a buddy by cell phone from the beach, and they were bailing big fish, that you would be able to open up any or the nearest draw while on the phone and grab a "barrell full of monkees" or needlefish as the case would be. Not get hooked, while your talking on the phone and be half way out the door at a moments notice with about 10 needles hanging off of each other.

2 oz and like tatoo any color will do . black/grey , pink , parrot , eel , black/purple and any yellow combo ( yellow/white , yellow/pink yellow/black , yellow/red oops I get so carried away .

needles arent the most productive lure in the sound . not to say they dont or wont work ! Its just there are better .

Needlefish! You mean my gibbs poppers and swimmers won't work down there!? Rubber and eels is all I know...

BM : Are those needles hanging off a shower curtain ? That's a tough place to take a shower, buddy.

EveryTime I fish with the guy he is in the water before I even can grab my rod. Yeah so he drives and is closer to the beach by say what 3ft...the guy is a nut....
