Something has been brought to my attention regarding a thread you started about what you would dress as for Halloween. I didn't bother to read it (nor my wife as she sometimes informs me of questionable posts). The post/picture displayed very poor taste and has been removed because for many people, it's downright cruel, not just a case of lack of judgement.

I want you to refrain from posting pending a discussion between me & Saltheart on whether you will remain a member of this site as I want his opinion on this matter. No reply from you is desired or will be tolerated at this time.

Thank you John........I wasnt going to post but I decided too anyway.
I can usually take things with good humor but that wasnt one of them and I am glad you decided to remove it.

October is breast cancer awareness month!!!!!!

Thank you again!

P.S. MEN CAN GET IT TOO!!!!!!!:(

Just because a few people found it funny, doesn't mean it is funny to everyone. Especially a topic as touchy as that. You have to realize that if someone knows someone who has died from breast cancer it is not funny AT ALL. You have to use some common sense once in a while.

<<<And I'm certain that when Patrick posted it, it never occurred to him that someone might be hurt or offended by it. >>>

That appears to be the story of Patrick's life...

Okay, I think a little perspective is needed here:

If the original post offended one person, do you think this would be the response? There were quite a few people who were offended and whether or not you can understand that is not an issue.

John has an obligation to ALL of his members (and advertisers) to maintain this site in a certain way. The better question to ask is not who did this offend, but what does it have to do with fishing?

It would only have to offend half a person to get a response if it comes from Patrick Is that correct? Or did you mean that if the post came from Patrick, only a partially offensive post would be sufficient?

Oh - I see that was deleted...

I was going to stay out of this discussion until Mindi posted that she doesn't see what Mammography has to do with cancer. I feel it is my duty to educate her.

Dr. Hugo Strax was a Surgeon, and his brother Dr. Selig Strax was a Radiologist. Their specialty was diagnosis and treatment of Breast Cancer. It was Selig who invented Mammography in the sixties, as a means of early diagnosis. That remains IT'S SOLE PURPOSE.

You might wonder why I am so familiar with this trivial detail. I'll tell you. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1963. Her physicians were the Strax brothers. She had a radical Mastectomy in 1964 that gave her another 15 years of life, but she ultimately succumbed to Cancer in 1979. She died in Calvary hospital in the Bronx. The cancer had migrated to her brain and lungs, she was in constant and severe pain, and could not recognize my father nor myself in the end. She cursed at us for disturbing her sleep.

Not the most pleasant of memories, something that happened long before you were born. I hadn't thought about it in years until Patricks tasteless post. If you could support this as harmless, you would find an excuse for a mass murderer. The boy is a loose cannon. I am sure there was no malicious intent, but you know what? INTENT DOES NOT MATTER ONE WHIT! All that matters is results.

Thanks for the cry. I probably needed it.
May your lives be filled with people exactly like yourselves.

Flounder you hit the nail on the head. My mother also died from breast cancer that went through her whole body and she suffered for years. That was in 1980. Before you post something that you think may be amusing have an open mind and if you feel it will offend any body just don't post it. Simple

Could the final nail have finally been put into the young lad's coffin? Does this spell the end of our man child's days on this fine board? Tune in tomorrow boys and girls, for the ongoing saga of Patrick.

I didn't see the post in question, but the responses don't surprise me, what are you waiting for John....this isn't a democracy...you be dictator.

I saw the post. I didn't find it funny or offensive, just droll. :o

I'd hate to see Patrick bounced for this particular post as I have no doubt he will hang himself in a much more amusing fashion. I suppose I have a morbid curiosity when it comes to the manchild's antics.

Nice site!
