That is the question that I ask.
Well sorta, me I'm a non-spinner, I'm a hanger as in wire at both ends and flip every so often.
What I guess I want to ask is why spin? The fish don't mind and the finish seems even to me. I mean were not making art or are you?
I for one don't have the room to spin 30 plugs like Slip ;) at a time but I can hang fifty with no problem. I haven't the space in my garage nor do I care to be doing only a couple plugs at a time. To me I always tell myself "Keep it simple Stupid" I guess if hanging is good enough for Mike Fixter it should be good enough for me.
So tell me why make a slick as glass finish when you plan on dashing it on the rocks?
California mindless needs to know.

It may not make much difference on the larger plugs, but I know with some of the smaller freshie stuff I do, it can make a difference. If the epoxy sags on one side, that will effect the action. Again, thats on smaller plugs. I've found there is less room for error with weight and stuff on the smaller plugs. Will also depend on the type of clear coat. Devcon sets up pretty quick, so it may not be as necessary. For something like systems three, it takes a lot longer to set up. I have better things to do (like turn more plugs or pour some lead) than have to worry about flipping the plugs every 10 minutes or so for a couple of hours.

Hi Jiggy,
I turned fifty pikies this weekend! Lot a sawdust on the driveway!
Jiggy I'm using clearcoat as does Mike and haven't had any sagging. On my lures anyway. :D
I can see the worry on small stuff but I turn like every 20 minutes for the first hour and then maybe once more if I remember.

Spin them, the finish will be much better for many reasons.
If room is the main concern, get a Farberware Rotisserie on Ebay. Modify it with plywood wheels. very portable, spins approx 12-14+ plugs depending on how u set it up & it takes up no more room than a breadbox. You can leave it on overnight on the kitchen table. Put it back in its box when youre done in the am.

I believe if I am going to to something I want to do my absolute best....ones work is a reflection of one's self.;) All or nothing, do it right or why bother? Why clear it at all in that case....the fish don't care and they are just gonna get beat up so why not just paint them and fish them? Pride in your work mostly I guess is my answer. I don't have a spinner yet so I flip them.:D

Not many rocks on the Cape Cod sands :p
I used to do it that way also winch, but 2 coats takes too long for me if I can get away with one.
I hate epooxie i ruin more nice plugs with the finish i spin I hang i used them all.I'm just gonna get a good poly floor rinish an dip em.the epoxie is way over rated in toughness hooks rocks all do a number on em why bother.i tired of that crap.
