View Full Version : superbow trivia question
Shawn B 01-31-2005, 05:10 PM My work is giving a free day off to the person who gets the most superbowl trivia questions correct. I have all of them except for one that I was hoping you guys could help me out with.
"10 teams made it back to the super bowl after winning it the year before. Of those 10 only 3 didn't repeat. Who are they"
I believe one team is the packers who beat us but then lost to Denver the next year. Anyone know the other 2 for sure?

Saying the Redskins lost to the Raiders in super bowl 18 is an understatement!!!
That year, the Redskins had the highest scoring offense ever.
But NOT that day!!!
It should have been 38-3, but the Raiders gave them a late touchdown at Junk time!!!
OH , I miss those days!!!:humpty:
Slipknot 01-31-2005, 06:10 PM Yes, the third is Green Bay
They won against us (damn Desmond Howard) in 1997
then lost in 98 to Denver

My guess on the first is Craig Morton--SB 5 for the Cowboys and a bunch for the Broncos.
Jerry Rice on the second--80s and 90s for the Niners and 2003 for the Raiders.
Shawn B 02-01-2005, 11:19 AM Mike, you are correct on Craig Morton. I believe the answer to the other one is Gene Upshaw but Jerry Rice seems to be correct as well. did he definately go in the 80's?
Mike P 02-01-2005, 11:36 AM He was MVP of Super Bowl XXIII in 1988.
He caught 3 TD passes from Steve Young in SB XXIX in 1995.
He caught a 48 yd TD pass from Rich Gannon in 2003.
Shawn B 02-01-2005, 12:10 PM Thanks Mike. I guess I better check on that Gene upshaw one, any of you guys know if he really did play in 3 decades?
Ok here is another one name the 2 players to win the mvp award in consecutive seasons?
The Dad Fisherman 02-01-2005, 12:21 PM Terry Bradshaw & Bart Starr
Shawn B 02-01-2005, 12:24 PM Tdf, that's correct. Ok let's try one I thought was hard but maybe you guys will not. What player scored the first points in a super bowl?
The Dad Fisherman 02-01-2005, 01:28 PM Max McGee

Who was also the first player to score a TD while nursing a massive hang-over. He was on Lombardi's crap list and didn't expect to get any playing time, so he partied hard the night before :D
Raider Ronnie 02-01-2005, 06:39 PM Gene Upshaw played for the Raiders in superbowls in
1967 vs Green bay
1976 vs Vikings
1980 vs Eagles
