View Full Version : Now Mirabelli goes down nightfighter 08-04-2006, 07:37 PM Left knee or ankle..... Thankfully Javier Lopez got in the clubhouse today.... Squid kids Dad 08-04-2006, 08:34 PM Havent heard anything about that..What happened?? BigFish 08-04-2006, 09:07 PM Play at the plate...2nd inning I think...Mirabelli made the play and hyperextended his left knee....did not look good! MrHunters 08-04-2006, 09:18 PM is lopez good? Skip N 08-04-2006, 10:57 PM is lopez good? He used to be, he's at the end of the road in his career. Still a good veteran guy for the sox to pick up. Javy was awesome during his Atlanta days BigFish 08-05-2006, 05:46 AM I think he hit 42 or 45 homers in 03"? Mike P 08-05-2006, 09:58 AM Being a Mets fan, I saw more of Javy than I would have liked over the years. He was a key cog in the Braves winning all those NL East titles. He's getting up there, but he's still a good guy to have handy. Reminds me of when the Sox picked up Elston Howard for a song and he helped make the Impossible Dream happen in 1967. You're showing you're age naming forgetten players from the 67 team:hidin: Backbeach Jake 08-05-2006, 10:45 AM Mirabelli goes down and takes Wakefield with him. Big loss. Lopez, tho, can't hurt. We could use another very good catcher. I hope he can catch a knuckle ball. Mike P 08-05-2006, 07:30 PM You're showing you're age naming forgetten players from the 67 team:hidin: How about Jose Tartabull? Key game against the White Sox (this was before divisions and playoffs, you either won the pennant or went home in September), who were also in the race, Ken Berry tags up on a fly ball to shallow left. Tartabull, who had a weaker arm than Johnny Damon, made the throw of his life and Howard blocked the plate like the old pro he was. Berry beat the throw but couldn't get to the plate. Tying run cut down, Sox win. Early season game vs the Yankees, rookie pitcher Billy Rohr takes a no hitter into the bottom of the ninth at the Stadium. Two out, Elston Howard is sent up as a pinch-hitter, and lines a single to break up the no-no. By season's end, he's catching Rohr. I'm only 52. Squid kids Dad 08-05-2006, 07:33 PM Yikes MikeP.I thought you were older than that...lol...Only 2 years ahead of me...I remember 67 all to well..The impossible dream vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
