Thanx guys.
Getting a Discogram to see if they are gonna do back surgery on me.
A discogram is an enhanced X-ray examination of the intervertebral discs. Dye is injected into the center of the injured disc(s). The dye makes the disc clearly visible on X-ray film and on a fluoroscope (special X-ray TV screen).

I know it's hard to not be nervous but do your best to relax and have confidence in the doctors and you'll do fine. I know, it's easier said than done but the less anxiety the better.

I feel for ya.

4 spinal taps when I was 14.Bacterial Meningitis.

And people wonder why I ain't right.Four of the most painful things your body can go through combined with a disease that makes you pray for death.

The 4 taps are what I remember most.I would really prefer to die than have those again.

Good luck Dave - Do as the Doc says or you will have a head ache like your head is exploding. I had a couple of those done before surgery many years ago. I hope they can operate with the scope, much better results recovering. Good Luck.:hs:

Has anyone ever heard of a procedure called IDET? It's an experimental procedure that the Doc is reccomending I try before surgery.

Dave, i hadn't heard of it before but took a good hard look at the procedure and how "less Invasive it is" compared to a major surgery and it doesn't look that bad and relatively safe. I would want to talk to people that have already had this done and see what they say.....
if i were you. If they say they are free of pain...go for it.

I feel your pain LITERALLY !!!
Went through herniated disc several years ago. i ended up getting cut open to "trim" the disc. All went well though, recovery time was only a couple of weeks. Now I only have slight pain now and then and usually only when I have to sit too long.

But worth it, the pain was so bad, a bullet was nearly an option.

I wish you luck, they can do amazing things, you should be better. NO you will be better....
