So I can avoid this tragedy myself UserRemoved1 06-11-2007, 03:16 PM sad :( JFigliuolo 06-11-2007, 03:19 PM what happened? So I can avoid this tragedy myself Not sure at this time. From what I gather there are some strong currents where he was fishing PLUS Friday night was the darkest, foggiest night I have fished, EVER. Who knows if he was taken by the sea or possibly had a heart attack or some other freak occurence. He was an ex-lifegaurd and was an experienced surfcaster. I could EASILY see how someone might have gotten disoriented while wading a sand bar and lost their bearing that night. partsjay 06-11-2007, 03:48 PM .....Thoughts & Prayers....sad story Skitterpop 06-11-2007, 03:50 PM man this is sad stuff....godbless :o WoodyCT 06-11-2007, 03:53 PM Thoughts and prayers to his family, especially the ones who lost their dad. JohnR 06-11-2007, 04:34 PM Mr Bill - you will be missed. Thoughts & Prayers for your family :( Canalman 06-11-2007, 04:43 PM I hate hearing these stories... but they do serve as a reminder that a good partner is perhaps the most important part of keeping yourself safe. I think of some the falls I have taken, or the times I have climbed out to some real treacherous perches alone.. it's really dangerous. So, Mr Bill, I will, as many of us will, think of you tonight when I teeter out to my rock of choice and do it with a little more caution than the last... T&P....:( FishermanTim 06-11-2007, 05:10 PM It's sad whan a family loses a parent, but at least he was doing something he loved. he will be missed, and may well serve as a reminder to the rest of us to still head out to the sea, but do so a bit more cautiously. I can recall at least one occasion where I was glad to make it back to shore. EricM 06-11-2007, 05:17 PM Strange story- found him in 3ft of water...very terrible.
