Saw him being interviewed by Tina today...... please no...I really do not want to see him again every five days. What's his record with the Sox? Seems like every game he started was torture to watch.
View Full Version : Matt Clement..... nightfighter 09-03-2007, 08:43 PM Saw him being interviewed by Tina today...... please no...I really do not want to see him again every five days. What's his record with the Sox? Seems like every game he started was torture to watch. Slipknot 09-03-2007, 09:21 PM he seems like he'd make good buddies with JD Drew the sox don't need matt clement afterhours 09-04-2007, 06:08 AM i think (hope) his contract expires this year. saw that interview- says he's throwing better than ever...... Uncle Matt 09-04-2007, 07:01 AM He was God awful. He reminds me of Matt Young. Just without Youngs talent! MrHunters 09-04-2007, 09:42 AM matt who? he's a bumb... didn't he take one off the face a while back? Fishin' Blues 09-04-2007, 10:49 AM Wasn't he in the All-Star game before his injury? Hey, if he'll take a reasonable contract to stay, I'd give him a shot. He had some good stuff... for a couple months anyways. Uncle Matt 09-04-2007, 03:47 PM Clement could be a key player come the playoffs if he is healthy and he brings his old stuff. The season is long and if he can spot start or come out of the bullpen when needed down the stretch he will be a great addition. Raider Ronnie 09-04-2007, 05:43 PM Sox fans forget, he was pitching great before he got beaned ! MrHunters 09-04-2007, 05:50 PM Sox fans forget, he was pitching great before he got beaned ! that was kinda my point fishbones 09-05-2007, 11:06 AM Clement is the classic case of a player who has "great stuff". Every GM in baseball thinks that if they sign these guys, they will be a Cy Young winner for their team. There is a reason that these pitchers make it into free agency. It's because they can't translate their "great stuff" into success. That being said, I hope to see Clement pitching for the Sox this year. But only in a mop-up situation after the Sox have clinched the division. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
