Perhaps this should be the begining of another thread but I will pose the question here. If you caught that fish in the surf and didn't have a massive heart attack when you turned on your light, and was able to land it.Would you keep it or release it? junkmansj 10-08-2007, 08:40 PM Heres a Image of that Bass. KEEP IT! joe the plumber 10-08-2007, 08:57 PM I would too.I'm just not sure I would survive turning on the light! tattoobob 10-08-2007, 09:04 PM Well if I could I would try to release it, I would crap my pants though jkswimmer 10-09-2007, 01:55 AM Someone caught my fish!!!! piemma 10-09-2007, 03:47 AM Paul was that in one of the decline years? Indeed it was Scott. 77 was pretty much at the beginning of the dramatic down turn in the population. From then until 90 or 91 we sucked wind trying to find fish in the surf. the boat guys still had some but the stocks were really depleted. GonnaCatchABig1 10-09-2007, 03:58 AM woooooooooooooooow. heres a good question.. how many time do you think that thing had been caught before? it's amazing to think all those schoolies we toss back have a chance at becoming that. EricM 10-09-2007, 04:51 AM That thing is a monster...I wonder if that fish was traveling in the company of smaller fish or if it was in a school of similarly sized behemoths. Wow. That is some fish! Flaptail 10-09-2007, 06:05 AM Wowza! Was it taken on one of yor lures Scott? If so way to go! NIB 10-09-2007, 06:09 AM Thats a fish...Thats my holy grail right there. If I could land that from the M surf I would hang my gear up.. No BS.. I'm gotta change my line.. Someone said it was in the top ten.I did not think that was right.. UserRemoved1 10-09-2007, 07:42 AM NO was NOT taken on one of mine Steve. Didn't say that I just posted it was caught. Wowza! Was it taken on one of yor lures Scott? If so way to go! zimmy 10-09-2007, 08:11 AM I would send her back if I could revive it. What the heck would I do with a fish that size :usd: ? Even if I didn't have a camera :behead: Brother Brian 10-09-2007, 08:12 AM Caught off the boat Top Hook on bait. EarnedStripes44 10-09-2007, 08:48 AM its nice to see a big fish like that in this era of 40lb'ers Flaptail 10-09-2007, 09:05 AM NO was NOT taken on one of mine Steve. Didn't say that I just posted it was caught. Would have been cool if it was. I'd hump that fish after landing it then have it mounted so I could just sit there and stare at it. piemma 10-09-2007, 10:32 AM That thing is a monster...I wonder if that fish was traveling in the company of smaller fish or if it was in a school of similarly sized behemoths. Wow. That is some fish! Big fish either swim with the same or similar size or alone. They don't swim with schoolies because they are not as fast and would starve competing for a meal. I was told that Mike Laptew once said he was free diving off the West Wall and had a school of Bass all over 100 pounds in front of him and then they swam away together. GeoffT 10-09-2007, 10:33 AM Caught off the boat Top Hook on bait. Caught on a porgy, to be exact. GonnaCatchABig1 10-09-2007, 10:54 AM I'd hump that fish after landing it then have it mounted so I could just sit there and stare at it. how do you MOUNT a fish twice? :rotf2::rotf2: ::chirp chirp:: nothin? Rockport24 10-09-2007, 01:03 PM WOW!!! look at the head on that thing! I'd prob chit myself if I had that on my line Mike P 10-09-2007, 01:21 PM Someone said it was in the top ten.I did not think that was right.. Doesn't sound right to me either--I know of 5-6 fish 70+ from Mass. alone  Church, Cinto and Stetzko at 73. Kirker at 72 Two from the old Chatham inlet at 70. Steve Petri had a 69 from Nauset that's the 16# line class record. Tim Coleman has a couple of high 60s from the Block. Steve Campo might also have a high 60 from the Block. The one from CT at 75. Bob Rochetta's 76. McReynold's 78-1/2. Some high 60s from Va/NC in recent years. Who knows how many ever got caught and not reported. nightfighter 10-09-2007, 03:40 PM Thats a fish...Thats my holy grail right there. If I could land that from the M surf I would hang my gear up.. No BS.. Yup, me too, Tony.... I'd be wrecked after that fish. Have to join a country club or sumpthin..... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
