View Full Version : Gene Ayotte dead
piemma 12-08-2007, 09:06 AM I don't know how many guys on this board knew Gene but he was a fixture at the mouth of Narrow River from 86-87 thru 96-97. He was a Nam vet and a good guy. I fish a lot with him for many years at the mouth of The River. He was an absolute master of the 1/2 oz jig and , even in the lean years, would take a 1/2 dozen fish every morning.
He died Wednesday at the Bristol Vets Home.
RIP Gene. Tight Lines :(
spence 12-08-2007, 09:12 AM I think I heard you mention him a few times here and there in your fish tales...RIP and best wishes for any family.

I almost forgot that we use to call him Geno, Mouth of Narrow River. Pun intended.
maddog2020 12-08-2007, 12:30 PM Sorry for your loss, Piemma. :(
I'm sure his spirit will live forever in the hearts and souls of those he has touched. :)
Jigs are killer lures - people often ignore them for fancier things. ;) I've been making myself use them more of the yrs. :)
RIROCKHOUND 12-08-2007, 12:40 PM Wicked bummer.

Slingah 12-08-2007, 09:55 PM sorry to hear of the loss of your friend piemma
piemma 12-09-2007, 07:25 AM Thanks Guys. Geno's death is a loss to the whole fishing community. It's ironic how many guys I have fished with that have passed this year. Geno, Habs, Lanny Gazini just this year. Not one of them over 60 years old. Makes you think about what Clammer says: "Enjoy what you have"
JohnR 12-09-2007, 07:37 AM Rest in Peace for another fellow surfcaster and many thanks for his service.
BassDawg 12-09-2007, 08:55 AM RIP Geno, and
may God grant you His Peace and His Comfort for your family, and for yer friends, piemma, and others. My family's thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
Man, waz up with all these legendary surfcasters and their health and death issues?? I know that we all get old and that death is an inevitable part of Life, but all these guys.................all at once, what gives :( :(???
